Anna Marie (Shover) Coiner, 68, wife of Harold Eugene Coiner, of 105 Beverley Court, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at the home of her son on Frontier Drive.
Mrs. Coiner was born on August 20, 1948 in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Russell Eugene and Elizabeth (Arehart) Shover.
Anna was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, she was a homemaker and formerly employed with J.C. Penney as a sales clerk, and also General Electric. She enjoyed going to craft shows, watching cooking shows on TV, and was very active with her grandchildren celebrating their birthdays and holidays with each and every one of them.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Henson; two brothers, Marvin T. Davis and James Russell Davis; a sister, Betty D. Daughtry; and a granddaughter, Andrea Mae Coiner.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 49 years, are two sons, Darwin H. Coiner and his wife Miranda of Weyers Cave and Michael D. Coiner of Staunton; two daughters, Pamela S. Watson of Verona, and Julie C. Muse of Staunton; a brother, Leonard Preston Shover of Staunton; two sisters, Mary Ann (Shover) Tankesley of Staunton and Shirley (Shover) Smith of Vesuvius; ten grandchildren, Savannah Muse, Emily Bowling, Jessica Coiner, Tristan Coiner, Henley Coiner, Amber Smith, Trevin Coiner, Catelynn Coiner, Silas Asbury and Nickolai Asbury; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Bowling and Parker Snead; a lifetime best friend, Thelma Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her son, Michael Coiner, 350 Frontier Drive, Staunton.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Mardy Marston.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Jennings, Jeff Jennings, Dennis McLaughlin, Ryan Snead, Michael Bowling, Stevin Davis, Carl Cox, and Carl Preston Shover.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Dr. H. Lynn Moore for his care and concern of Mrs. Coiner during her illness.
