IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann (Bartley)
Gardner
October 19, 1953 – January 3, 2024
Ann (Bartley) Gardner, 70, of Staunton passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radford.
Ms. Gardner was born in Virginia on October 19, 1953, daughter of the late George Glenn "G.G." Bartley Sr. and Linda Belle (Varner) Bartley.
Ann was a cheerleader and graduate of Riverheads High School and married her high school sweetheart, Dean on October 29, 1977. Ann helped her family with the train at Gypsy Hill Park, which they later sold to the city of Staunton. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her geraniums and being outside, enjoying the sun. Ann enjoyed hair styling and cosmetics and cherished memories and heirlooms that were passed down by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Albert Dean Gardner.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Ann Bishop Gardner Nessar of Waynesboro; a brother, George Glenn Bartley, Jr. (Scott Matthews) of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother in laws, Bernie Gardner (Kathy) of Stuarts Draft and Wendell Gardner (Teresa) of Waynesboro; mother-in-law, Dorothy "Dottie" Walters (Nelson); special friend and caregiver in her final years, Gary Wilsher; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services will be held at a later date.
