Andrew Wayne "A.J." Mitts, Jr., 18, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

A.J. was born in Fishersville, Virginia on January 27, 2008 a son of Andrew W. Mitts, Sr. and Sheena N. Seaton.

A.J. was a student at Buffalo Gap High School. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, playing basketball, and making pizzas for those he cared about. He was outgoing and had so many friends - he was truly loved by many. Above all, he was devoted to his family and always looked out for them with love and loyalty.

Surviving, in addition to his parents of Staunton, are three brothers, Stanley Mitchell, III of Craigsville, Clayton Walker Mitts, and Dallas Austin Mitts both of Staunton; his paternal grandmother, Patsy Miller and Jimmy of Staunton; his godmother, Holly Coffey; two godbrothers, Lathan Cousins and Braxten Ritchie; a godsister, Ja'Niah Henson; two uncles, Daniel Seaton and Jason Mitts and his wife, Christy; special friends, G redd and Nysiah; and many other friends, too many to mention.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
