Alvin Leon Hart
Alvin Leon Hart, 57 of 303 Cedar Green Road Staunton passed away Friday December 10, 2010 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Hart was born on March 10, 1953 in Staunton, a son of the late Eunice (Hart) Davenport and stepfather the late William Gray Davenport Sr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Community United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by a brother Lionel B. Davenport.
He is survived by a son Jakari Hart of Staunton; a brother Walter Davenport of Stuarts Draft, two step-sisters Wanda Davenport of Richmond and Sylvia Davenport of Alexandria; five step-brothers, Maurice Davenport of Staunton, William Davenport, Jr. of Stuarts Draft, Zane Davenport of Stuarts Draft, Jeff Henderson of Staunton; two grandchildren; a special care giver and cousin Lori Kier-Benson of Staunton and many nieces, nephews and cousins that loved him dearly. Alvin also had two very special friends from Envoy Nursing home, Lindsey Murphy and Kristen Murphy Veal.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in the Community United Methodist Church by the Rev. Conchita Holtz and Rev. Dr. Joseph Walker.
Burial will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, William Vaughn, Ike Moore, Eugene Vaughn Jr. Ernest Rose, Ernest Smith, Malcolm Kier and William Veney and Ernest Smith.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of his arrangements.
