Allen Boyd Simmons, Jr., 67, widower of Bonnie Kay (Clatterbaugh) Simmons of White Hill Road, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his residence and now rests in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Simmons was born September 12, 1947 in Staunton, a son of the late Allen Boyd Simmons, Sr. and Marie Margaret (Pirkey) Simmons.
Allen was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Augusta, and owner and operator of A.A.M. Trucking.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death
by a sister, Cherry D. Eavers.
Surviving is a sister, Bonnie Marie Simmons of Fishersville; two nephews, Coy R. Eavers and his wife Jenny of Staunton and Michael Mikey Eavers and his wife Victoria of White Plains, NY; a niece, Amber Eavers-Martino and her husband Nick of Staunton; two great nephews, Wyatt Eavers and Stone Eavers; four great nieces, Abbey Eavers, Maggie Martino, Ceci Martino and Penelope Eavers; an uncle, Elwood Lee Woody Simmons of Fishersville; a special friend and care giver, Judy Blicharz of Stuarts Draft; and a number of cousins and many special friends also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Cornerstone Church of Augusta by Pastors Greg Mayo, David Sandy and Charles Perkins of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
