Alice R. Hockel

Alice Rita (Welner) Hockel, 64, of 140 South Charlotte Ave. in Waynesboro, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at her residence.
Ms. Hockel was born June 11, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Goetz) Welner.
Alice was self-employed, running her own cleaning service. She was an avid artist who enjoyed painting, ballet and music.
Survivors include her fianc and companion for 20 years John Zawhorodny of Waynesboro; a son, John P. Lennon of Michigan; a brother, John Welner of St. Louis, Missouri and eight grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in the Irish Creek Community Cemetery by Rev. Jeremy Sipe.

In addition to the above information, Mrs. Hockel is survived by a daughter, Sherrie J. Steller of Oregon, a brother, Joseph Wellner and two additional grandchildren.
