Albert Franklin Cash, 83, husband of Bettie Jo (Tyree) Cash, of 924 Baylor Street, Staunton passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 in the University of Virginia Hospital.

Mr. Cash was born October 3, 1928 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Homer Franklin and Nora Lee (Bartley) Cash.

Mr. Cash was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Rockbridge Baths, he retired in September of 1991 as a guard with VDOT and after his retirement he worked for Security Associates as the night / weekend security guard at McDonalds on Greenville Avenue. Albert enjoyed playing music and was a talented fiddle and guitar player; he enjoyed NASCAR and was a loving and caring husband to his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Therman J. Cash, Hansford Cash and Charles Lee Cash and three sisters, Olvine (Cash) Garza, Della (Cash) Holloway and Annie (Cash) Phillips.

Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-four years are four sisters, Aileen (Cash) Cash of Lexington, Lillian (Cash) Heatwole of Woodbridge, Mary (Cash) Hart of Staunton and Martha (Cash) Newcomer of Lexington and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bill Bearden.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Ken Mohler, Joe Fauber, Melvin Hays, Joe Kester, John Harris, Otis Hinton and Kevin Basham.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
