Albert Lee Alvin Beverly, 77, husband of Nancy Victoria Vicky (Wade) Beverly of 4947 Morris Mill Road passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Beverly was born September 12, 1935 in Charlottesville, a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Bertha (Minter) Beverly.
Mr. Beverly was the owner-operator of Beverlys Heating and Cooling and was a member of the Staunton Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict on a air craft carrier. He was an avid deer and bear hunter, a fan of NASCAR and he enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Richard L. Beverly.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-two years is a son, Shelton Lee Beverly of Swoope; three daughters, Sheryl N. Lane and her husband Lyle of West Augusta, Shelby L. Lawhorn and her friend Troy Wilcher of Goshen and Stephanie R. Dixon of Waynesboro; a brother, Charles E. Beverly of Shipman; four sisters, Nellie Taylor of Atlanta, GA, Estelle Dean of Stony Point, Myrtle Hudson of Durham, NC and Laura Chaney of South Boston; eight grandchildren, Michael Murphy, Justin Lane, Matthew Beverly, Trevor Lane, Charles Lawhorn, John Paul Dixon, Victoria Beverly and Beverly Lawhorn; a number of nieces and nephews, special friend, David Sproul, special neighbors and hunting buddies also survive.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Staunton Church of the Nazarene by Pastor David Bailey.
The family will receive friends following the service.
