"Al" Sprouse
January 31, 1934 – February 1, 2022
Albert Theodore "Al" Sprouse, 88, husband of Shirley Lee (Puckett) Sprouse of Old White Hill Road, Stuarts Draft, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Augusta Health in Fishersville .
Mr. Sprouse was born in Augusta County, Virginia on January 31, 1934, a son of the late Wilford and Theressia (Bazzrea) Sprouse.
"Al" was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean War. He retired
from OSHA, where he was employed as a Compliance Officer. Mr. Sprouse was a member of the Staunton VFW Post #2216 where he played the Bugle, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sprouse was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert Sprouse, Dallas Sprouse, Harry Sprouse, Tommy Sprouse, Loran Sprouse; and two sisters, Shirley Martin and Daisy Ellinger-Brooks.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-seven years, is a son, Ronald E. "Ronnie" Sprouse and his wife Ellen of Stuarts Draft; three grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, and "Paw Paw's Buddy" Lukas; four great-grandchildren, Trenton, Caliann, Harper, and Dylan; a special niece and nephew, Ressie McAllister and Gary Sprouse; a special friend, Tai Mae White; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at Ridgeview Baptist Church by Pastor Don McClure and Pastor Rader Ogden.
Burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Sprouse, Dennis Chaplin, Nick Sprouse, Kyle Sprouse, Kaden Welcher, and Robert Witt.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to The Beacon of Truth Baptist Ministries, 2992 Republic Avenue, Florence, South Carolina 29501.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to H.B.P.C., caregivers, Becky and Mark Pruett, and Giny Knighting, and to Kay Moneymaker, Gary Sprouse, and Colleen White for their friendship to Mr. Sprouse.
