Aileen R. Rhodes

Aileen (Rohr) Rhodes, 94, widow of Ernest Victor Rhodes, of 336 Denmark Way, Lexington, passed away, Saturday, March 7, 2009 in the Blue Ridge Christian Home in Raphine.
Born on Wednesday, November 25, 1914 in Pleasantville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Cecil and Minnie Mae (Moore) Rohr.
Aileen received her bachelors and masters degree from the University of Maryland. She was certified in Library Science at Catholic University. She taught business classes at Brunswick High School and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and was a librarian at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, MD. She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Silver Spring and a member of the Silver Spring Womens Club.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by a brother, Norvin Edward Rohr.
Mrs. Rhodes is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Carol (Rhodes) Meyer and husband, Dale of 336 Denmark Way, Lexington; three grandchildren, Ross A. Meyer and his wife Heather, Scott A. Meyer and Laura A. Meyer; two great-granddaughters, Catherine D. Meyer and Lindsey A. Meyer.
A celebration of Aileens life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 in the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North, Hagerstown, MD by the Rev. Richard Daughtridge officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
The family wishes to extend a personal thank you to the wonderful staff at Blue Ridge Christian Homes and to Dr. Rob Marsh of Middlebrook Family Medicine for their care and love given to Mrs. Rhodes.
