Agnes B. Helmick
STAUNTON
Agnes Lou (Boyd) Helmick, 76, wife of Larry Curtis Helmick of 77 Shelley Lane went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 26, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Helmick was born February 23, 1936 in Stuarts Draft, a daughter of the late Edgar W. and Edna (Lines) Boyd.
Mrs. Helmick graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1954 and retired from ASR in 1999 with forty-four years of service. She was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Helmick was preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar W. Boyd, Jr., William T. Boyd and Paul G. Boyd, a baby brother, Joe Scott Boyd; sisters, Blanche B. Spitzer, Helen B. Landram and a baby sister, Edna Boyd.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Susan Diane Ruleman and her husband, Victor L. of Deerfield; a grandson, Nathan R. Rexrode and granddaughter, Kristen D. Rexrode both of Staunton; a special great-grandson, Jacob Andrew Puffenbarger; step-grandson, W.A. Ruleman and his girlfriend, Madison Phillips; step-daughter, Tania H. Kincaid and her husband, Jarrod D. of Verona; step-granddaughter, April A. Strickler and her husband, Brian S. of Stuarts Draft and step-grandson, Ben Demory and his girlfriend, Tasha Peters of Staunton; step-great-granddaughter, Reese Gabrielle Strickler; a sister, Amelia B. Mader of Staunton and a brother, Guy R. Boyd of Stuarts Draft; sister-in-law, Loretta H. Grimm and her husband, Dennis W.; brother-in-law, Charles Ernest Helmick and his wife, Marcy E. of Staunton; loving nieces, nephews and special friends and her pets, Rosie, Cody and Precious also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Strickler and Pastor Denny Sites.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Active pallbearers will be Buck Brown, Mike Stoher, Ronnie Truxell, Kevin Lacey, Mike Lacey, Nathan Rexrode, Ben Demory and W. A. Ruleman.
Honorary pallbearers are R.W. Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Tommy Harris, Eric Gilbert, Marty Miller, Martin Miller, Kevin Helmick, B. J. Waitier, Brian Strickler and Brian Helmick.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who prayed and shared their time and concern. Also the staffs
of Augusta Health, UVA, Emily Couric Cancer Center and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 42 Neff Avenue, Suite 21, Harrisonburg, VA 22801 and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939 or to a charity of ones choice.
