Adele Muriel (Getzel) Schindler's Obituary

Adele Muriel (Getzel) Schindler, 83, widow of Vincent John Vince Schindler of 158 Battlefield Road, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Adele was born on May 1, 1934 in Fulda, Minnesota, a daughter of the late William and Frances Ophelia (Geber) Getzel.
Adele was a wonderful and dedicated homemaker, an excellent caregiver and cook, and she enjoyed gardening and beautifying nature by growing and weeding her flowers. Adele loved spending time with her family and friends and she never forgot a birthday. She also was a member of the High Noon Club and the Red Hatters.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Adele was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Getzel; and a sister, Vergene Boulet.
Surviving is a son, William Bill Schindler and his wife Donna of Verona; a daughter, Kathleen Kay Schindler of Staunton; three grandsons, William Jacob Schindler and his wife Gretchen of Staunton, Lucas Forrest Schindler and his wife Kristen of Roanoke, and Zachary John Schindler of Richmond; six great-grandchildren, Tucker, Carter Grace, Tayler, Seth, Jackson and Ainsley; and a sister, Patricia A. Loosbrock of St. Killian, Minnesota. Adele is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends one and half hours prior to the service (10:00 11:30 a.m.) and following the service at the residence.
A Celebration of Adeles Life will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick and Janis Hepler, Rick Morris, Jim Harner, Stella Lilley, and Anne Gordon.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the University of Virginia Childrens Hospital, 1215 Lee Street, Charlottesville, Virginia 22908, or St. Judes Children Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942, or the Staunton-Augusta Regional S.P.C.A., Post Office Box 2014, Staunton, Virginia 24402. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
