John David Knicely Huffer, 47, of 145 Old Quarry Road, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Augusta Health, Fishersville.
Mr. Huffer was born on August 21, 1968 in Staunton, a son of Jerry Lee and Judy Faye (Knicely) Huffer.
John was a member of the Staunton First Church of God and a 1990 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. He enjoyed music, spending time outside with his father, taking short trips and shopping.
John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Brandt and Flora Knicely and a paternal grandfather, James Marshall Huffer.
In addition to his parents of Mount Solon, John is survived by a paternal grandmother, Mazie M. Huffer of Mount Solon; special aunts, Joan Knicely, Nancy Lotts and her husband Shuey, JoAnn Harlow and her husband Hershey, Patsy Myers and Kathleen Miller and her husband John Paul; an uncle, Michael Knicely and his wife Elizabeth and numerous cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the Staunton First Church of God by Pastor Sylvia McDorman and Pastor Scott Stedman.
Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Bright, Frankie Noel, Bob Morris, Dwight Cason, Arnold Terry and David Simmons.
