STAUNTON:

Ronald Oran “Ronnie” Collins, 56, husband of Debbie (Hayes) Collins of 210 George Street passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011
at his residence.
Mr. Collins was born June 5, 1955 in Staunton, a son of the late Oran and Thelma (Hoover) Collins.
Ronnie was an electrician and plumber for M&M Electric and a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Staunton and Verona Moose Lodges and a former member of the Augusta County Fire Department. Ronnie enjoyed camping, boating and the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fourteen years, is a sister, Carol Sue Dooms and her husband Carroll; two nieces, Lori Dooms and Penny Beverage; mother-in-law, Anna Lee Hayes all of Staunton; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lester N. LaPrade.
Burial will follow in the Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers are Gaylen Widner, Jeff Samples, Richard Samples, Nick Kight, Randy Campbell, C.L. Booth and Carroll Dooms.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2501 5th Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of his arrangements.
