William Pratt “Will” Folks, 80, husband of Phyllis M. (Surratt) Folks of Long Meadow Road passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehab in Staunton.
Mr. Folks was born June 29, 1930 in Waynesboro a son of the late Bryan and Mary (Pratt) Folks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred (Brown) Folks.
Mr. Folks was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Blue Grass and was veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during the Korean War. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Blue Grass Ruritan Club. Mr. Folks was an avid golfer at the Needles Eye Golf Course in Highland County.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Lori Martinez of Greensboro, NC; a step-son, Dennis Houlihan of Stuarts Draft; two step-daughters, Donna Cason of Verona and Julia Kovacks of Greenville; one brother, Julian “Bo” Folks of Blue Grass; seven grandchildren, Brett Houlihan, Steven Cason, Christina Cason, Laura Cason, Walter Pugh, Kristin Martinez and Ray Martinez and one great-grandson, Dixon Pugh also survives.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Blue Grass Cemetery in Highland County by Rev. Andre Crummett.
There will be no public viewing.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
