Obituary for Gary Lewis Seaman

Gary Lewis Seaman, 66, widower of Joan Alease (Cox) Seaman formerly of Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Envoy of Staunton.

Mr. Seaman was born on June 3, 1951 in Staunton, a son of Josephine (Weese) Seaman and the late Andrew Wallace Seaman.

Mr. Seaman was retired from Mathers Construction, where he had been employed as an estimator, a member of the Baptist Faith and a graduate of

W & L University in Lexington.

In addition to his father and wife, Mr. Seaman was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Lynne Alease Tate.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Fishersville is a sister, Patricia S. Pattie Jarvis and her husband Jerry of Middlebrook; a brother-in-law, Robert G. Cox and his wife Reda of Martinsville; four nephews; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Oakwood Cemetery, 107 Cemetery Street in Martinsville, Virginia by the Dr. Michael Hatfield.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Augusta Health Foundation, Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.

The family wishes to express a very special Thank You to Brookdale of Staunton, Envoy of Staunton, Dr. Rob Marsh, Augusta Hospice of the Shenandoah and their staff, Laura, Mary Scott, Megan, and Reese.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
