Willie is the founder of Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory having served the community of Staunton, Augusta County and surrounding areas for over thirty five years as funeral service provider.

Born in Staunton, William is the son of the late Rev. Glenn F. and Elsie Pauline Coffman of Craigsville.

He is the husband of Barbara G. Coffman and they have a daughter Whitley B. Coffman and two grandchildren.

William is a native of the Augusta County and graduated of Buffalo Gap High School Class of 1982. He attended Blue Ridge Community College and received his degree in Mortuary Science in 1989, graduating from the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA.

William and his family are active members of Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton.

He is a member of the Augusta Lions Club, the Middlebrook Ruritans, a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors' Association, and a member and past President of the Shenandoah Valley Funeral Directors' Association.

Mr. Coffman began working in the funeral service in 1983 and has continued serving the families of Staunton and Augusta County for over thirty years.

Barbara G. Coffman Co-Owner / Administrative Support Specialist

Barbara was born and raised in Wytheville, VA, a daughter of the late Jeanette Vaught Grubb and Warren Grubb.

She attended George Wythe High School and Wytheville Community College and has taken classes at Valley VoTech in Fishersville. Barbara moved to Staunton in 1988 and has two daughters, Michelle D. Bergos of Greenville and Whitley B. Coffman of Staunton.

Before joining her husband in funeral service, Barbara was a paraprofessional in the SPED programs at Beverly Manor Middle School and Riverheads High School.

Barbara enjoys the beach, camping, reading and spending time with her family. Her compassion is evident in her connection with the families of those we serve.

S. Jonathan Hines Assistant Manager / Funeral Service Licensee / CCO

Sergio P. Jonathan Hines was born in Guatemala, was adopted and grew up in Waynesboro. Jonathan married Candice (Raynes) in 2011. They have two children, Brooklyn Joy Hines and Austin Jonathan Hines and reside in Staunton.

Jonathan attended Blue Ridge Community College for a degree in Business Management and is a graduate of John Tyler Community College and the Funeral Services Program (AAS).

He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and a Certified Crematory Operator (CCO), completing the certification program through the National Funeral Directors Association, of which he is a member.

Jonathan is the Vice President of the Shenandoah Valley Funeral Director's Association.

Jonathan and his family are active members of Aero Drive Church of God in Waynesboro, where his father, Daniel W. Hines is Pastor and his mother Melody K. Hines is the pianist and organist. Jonathan enjoys singing and serves as sound technician at the church.

He enjoys kayaking, golf, and traveling with his family.

He is passionate about giving guidance and assistance to the families we serve and being there for them at a time when they need help the most.

Whitley Brooke Coffman Administrative Assistant

Whitley was born in Charlottesville Virginia, the daughter of William and Barbara Coffman. She is the mother of 3 precious children and resides in Staunton, VA.

She graduated from Riverheads High School class of 2010, and attended Valley Vo-Tech where she received a certificate in Office Quickbooks.

Prior to moving to office duties, Whitley served her funeral service internship under the direct supervision of her father.

Whitley’s single most important obligation is her children and filling in where needed in the office. Along with being a mother she enjoys fishing, camping, hunting and other outdoor activities.

Rachel (Price) Branham was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia and graduated from Lane High School.

Her family moved to Staunton in 1973 to open a State Farm Insurance Agency here in the Valley. She is the widow of Norman R. Branham and the mother, mother-in-law and grandmother of Chris, Leigh, Bo, Tom, Gracie and Wade Branham of Fishersville.

Rachel is a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church. Over the years, she has been involved in many community organizations.

She enjoys bringing happiness, doing good deeds for others and is always there helping family and friends in their hour of need.

Kristie was born in Staunton, Virginia and is a lifelong resident of Augusta County. She and her husband Todd, who call Craigsville home, feel extremely fortunate to be surrounded by their families as neighbors. They are blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kynlea, who is truly their pride and joy. They praise her for keeping them young-at-heart.

 

Kristie is a 1990 graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and continued her studies and later graduated from Dominion Business School. Further studies included business and accounting at Blue Ridge Community College. Kristie brings with her 28 years of experience in related fields.

 

She enjoys spending time with family and the beauty of nature's surroundings. Family trips to the majestic mountains of Tennessee are just one of her favorite pastimes.

Pam was born in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Glenn Ryan Thayer and the late Mary Estelle (Oliver) Thayer, she was a 1980 graduate of Riverheads High School.

Pam is married to Thomas Keith Swink and they have two children, Justin Keith and Amanda Kay. She has two beautiful granddaughters, Kaitlyn Grace and Summer Rose.

She is an active member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Pam has been a hairdresser for over thirty years and employed with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory since July of 2008.

She enjoys spending time with her family and helping people in the community.

John was born in Hartsville, SC but shortly moved to Bel Air, MD and graduated high school there. He graduated from Milligan College and began his teaching career in Maryland. While teaching at Mountain Mission School in Grundy, VA he met his wife, Mari. John moved to Spottswood, VA and he and Mari were married in 1976. Shortly thereafter they began a new church plant, Raphine Christian Church. They have ministered there now for 39 years. During that time John has taught school at Riverheads High School for 12 years, worked in banking for 8 years and worked for Rockbridge Area Community Services for 3 years.

John and Mari have 3 sons, Elijah, Micha and Jordan; three daughters-in-law, Jen, Amy and Jazmyn; and one grandson, Sam. They have been foster parents to 3 children. He enjoys gardening, tinkering with cars and traveling.

Kathy Walton Lafon is a native of Staunton and currently serves as a Musician for Coffman Funeral Home.

She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then completed a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University in 1988. Kathy also serves as Director of Music and Worship at Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton.

She sees her opportunity to minister through music to families during their time of grief as a blessing.

Eugene “Gene” Mcllwee, Jr. was born in Shenandoah County.

He and his wife Judy live near Middlebrook. They have a daughter, Megan; a son, Jason and his wife Katie and their son, Nick.

He is a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Swoope.

Gene retired after 40 years of service from the Augusta County School System as an agriculture teacher at Riverheads High School.

He is a graduate of Virginia Tech with B.S. and M.S. Ed degrees in Agricultural Education.

Gene has been employed part-time as a Funeral Service Assistant with Coffman Funeral Home since July 2008.

Kenny was born in Staunton and married Linda Patrick Nicholas in April of 1995. He has a son, step-daughter and three grandchildren.

He is a 1974 graduate of Fort Defiance High School, he attended Blue Ridge Community College, is an U.S. Army Veteran and retired as a Fire Engineer with the City of Staunton.

Kenny and his wife Linda are members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and they reside in Lyndhurst. Kenny enjoys the outdoors, hunting, singing and playing music.

He began his employment as a funeral assistant with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in July of 2009.

John was born in Staunton and is married to Donna Dedrick Yeago. They have three sons and a daughter. John is a 1970 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, he attended Virginia Tech and is retired from Hollister Inc.

John and his family are members of Mountain View Mennonite Church, he enjoys photography, shooting sports, personal computers and electronics.

John began his employement with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in July of 2008.

Martin and his wife, Shirley are long-time residents of Raphine. After serving in the United States Navy, Martin built a career with DuPont until his retirement after 30 years of service.

He and Shirley are active members of Fairfield Methodist Church, where Martin is a member of the choir.

He is an engineer for the Gypsy Express and assists with activities for the Raphine Volunteer Fire Department. After years of farming and mechanics, Martin enjoys woodworking and spending time with family and friends.

Bill was born in Waukegan, Illinois, raised in Arkansas. He and his wife Joan have lived in the Greenville area for over thirty years. They have three children, Sarah, Nathan, Katie and also four grand-children, Andrew, Autumn, Eli & Jordan.

He attended Searcy High School in Arkansas, Served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a City Letter Carrier in Waynesboro with a combined service of thirty-four years.

Bill has been a Licensed Minister in the Nationwide Pentecostal Evangelistic Association for over twenty years.

He and Joan attend the Stuarts Draft Full Gospel Church. His hobbies include family time, meeting people, enjoying outdoor activities, tinkering with and admiring old cars.

F. James "Jim" Bailey and his wife, Nancy, have been married since August 1967 and they have been residents of Augusta County since 1973. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Trooper with the Virginia State Police for nearly twenty years before joining the staff of Wilson Trucking Corporation in Fishersville. He retired as Wilson's Senior Vice President of Safety and Human Resources.

Jim was elected twice to the Augusta County Board of Supervisors serving the residents of the Beverley Manor District. Jim is a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Virginia State Police Alumni, The American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America.

Donna was born in Lexington, Virginia, the daughter of Margie F. Houser and the late Erskine L. Houser. She has lived in the Augusta County/Staunton area her entire life.

She is a 1972 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and retired in 2008 following a 35 year career in banking.

She is an active member of Third Presbyterian Church, Staunton.

Donna currently serves as a Director on the Board of a local community bank. She is also a past Director of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

Donna has a daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Chris Kincheloe and two precious grandchildren. Besides spending time with her family, Donna enjoys bowling, trips to the ocean and getaways to her camp in the mountains.

Tom and his wife, Judith of 53 years of Verona, father of two children and four grandchildren.

He is a long time member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and on numerous committees. Toms faith in Jesus Christ is and has been his source of strength and blessings in all areas of his life.

Tom worked in industry for 28 years as a draftsman, designer and mechanical engineer. He retired from Woodman of The World as a activities director/youth camp director with 19 years of service.

His interests include camping with family, fishing, NASCAR, restoring classic automobiles and taking care of his home and several rental houses.

Jason was born and raised in the Middlebrook area of Augusta County. He graduated from Riverheads High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Blue Ridge Community College. He is employed full time by the County of Augusta and is a member of St. John’s Reformed Church near Middlebrook.

Jason has a daughter Allison. He is an active member of the Middlebrook Volunteer Fire Department and also works on the family farm raising beef cattle.

He enjoys being outdoors and traveling as much as possible.

Russell Dale Rankin was born in Waynesboro and grew up in the rural community of New Hope. He graduated from Fort Defiance High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Mennonite University and attended Evangelical Theological Seminary.

 

Russell served six years in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War. He retired from Invista, formerly DuPont, with 45 years of service.

 

Russell and his wife, Sherry reside in Waynesboro and attend New Hope United Methodist Church. They have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

Jim was a police officer with the Staunton Police Department, retiring in 2010 with 32 years of service.

 

He lives in Stuarts Draft and attends Community Church of the Nazarene in Waynesboro.

Conchita P. Holtz is married to Harry R. Holtz. They are the proud parents of three children (Yvonne, George, and Tynika), eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. 

 

Conchita retired from E. I. DuPont, de Nemours., Inc. in 2002. She graduated from Mary Baldwin University with a B.A. in Health Care Administration and furthered her education when God called her into ministry in 1995.  She attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, Virginia where she began work on her Master of Divinity and continues to study at Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia.

 

Conchita Holtz has served in many ministerial capacities such as pastor, assistant pastor, counseling. and musician in the local area. She loves the Lord and her favorite past time is reading and traveling.

He graduated from Riverheads High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Blue Ridge Community College. He is employed full time by the County of Augusta and is a member of St. John’s Reformed Church near Middlebrook.

Jason has a daughter Allison. He is an active member of the Middlebrook Volunteer Fire Department and also works on the family farm raising beef cattle.

He enjoys being outdoors and traveling as much as possible.

Russell Rankin

Russell Dale Rankin was born in Waynesboro and grew up in the rural community of New Hope. He graduated from Fort Defiance High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Mennonite University and attended Evangelical Theological Seminary.

 

Russell served six years in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War. He retired from Invista, formerly DuPont, with 45 years of service.

 

Russell and his wife, Sherry reside in Waynesboro and attend New Hope United Methodist Church. They have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

Jim was a police officer with the Staunton Police Department, retiring in 2010 with 32 years of service.

 

He lives in Stuarts Draft and attends Community Church of the Nazarene in Waynesboro.

 

Jim has three children.

Conchita P. Holtz is married to Harry R. Holtz. They are the proud parents of three children (Yvonne, George, and Tynika), eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. 

 

Conchita retired from E. I. DuPont, de Nemours., Inc. in 2002. She graduated from Mary Baldwin University with a B.A. in Health Care Administration and furthered her education when God called her into ministry in 1995.  She attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, Virginia where she began work on her Master of Divinity and continues to study at Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia.

 

Conchita Holtz has served in many ministerial capacities such as pastor, assistant pastor, counseling. and musician in the local area. She loves the Lord and her favorite past time is reading and traveling.
