Willie is the founder of Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, L.L.C. having served the community of Staunton, Augusta County and surrounding areas for over thirty years as a funeral service provider.

Born in Staunton, William is the son of the late Rev. Glenn F. and Elsie Pauline Coffman of Craigsville. He is the husband of Barbara G. Coffman and they have a daughter, Whitley Brooke Coffman.

William is a native of Augusta County and a graduated of Buffalo Gap High School Class of 1982. He attended Blue Ridge Community College and received his degree in Mortuary Science in 1989, graduating from the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Ga.

William and his family are active members of Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton. He is a member of the Augusta Lions Club, the Middlebrook Ruritans, an active member of the Association of Independent Funeral Homes of Virginia and a member and past President of the Shenandoah Valley Funeral Directors' Association. Willie also served as a Director on the Educational and Nominating Committees for the Virginia Funeral Directors Association.

He began working in the funeral service in 1983 and has continued serving the families of Staunton and Augusta County for over 30 years.

Barbara G. Coffman

Barbara was born and raised in Wytheville, VA a daughter of Jeanette Vaught Grubb and the late Warren Grubb. She attended George Wythe High School and Wytheville Community College and has taken classes at Valley VoTech in Fishersville.

            Barbara moved to Staunton in 1988 and has two daughters, Michelle D. Bergos of Myrtle Beach, SC and Whitley B. Coffman of Staunton 

            Before joining her husband in funeral service Barbara was a paraprofessional in the SPED programs at Beverly Manor Middle School and Riverheads High School.

            She has been an active member of Memorial Baptist Church since 1989, a volunteer with Meals-On-Wheels and supports the programs of local schools.

            Barbara enjoys the beach, camping, reading and spending time with her family. Her compassion is evident in her connection with the families of those we serve.

Whitley C. Talbert
Whitley C. Talbert

Whitley Coffman Talbert was born in Charlottesville, Virginia the daughter of William and Barbara Coffman and also has an older sister Michelle D. Bergos of Staunton, VA. She graduated from Riverheads High School class of 2010, where she was a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and Varsity Track Team. She also participated in various school activities. On June 14, 2011 Whitley became a mother to her beautiful daughter Mariah Peyton Talbert. She then married the love of her life and the father of her daughter, Todd C. Talbert on October 6, 2012.

Whitley has currently put her internship on hold and is being a full-time mommy, helping in the family business when needed under the supervision of her father. Whitley will be completing her Internship and pursuing her Degree in Mortuary Science and working beside her husband.

Whitley is a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she participated in many church programs. She enjoys fishing, camping, hunting and other outdoor activities. She is an animal lover and especially loves her Chocolate Lab, Maya and bluetick coon hound, Bell.

Todd C. Talbert
Todd C. Talbert

Todd was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia the son of Janet W. Talbert and the late Charles R. Talbert of Craigsville, Virginia. He is the youngest of six siblings. He graduated from Buffalo Gap High School class of 2008, where he was a member of the varsity football team which had an undefeted season in 2007 and went on to be state champions. He also participated in the BAD club, Bison Against Drugs.

Todd is currently a registered Funeral Service Intern with the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, working full time at Coffman Funeral Home. His plans are to begin his schooling at Blue Ridge Community College and then transfer to John Tyler where he will be prusing a degree in Mortuary Science.

Todd, his wife Whitley and their daughter, Mariah reside in Churchville. Todd is an avid hunter and enjoys spending time with his family.  He especially enjoys spending time in the woods with his bluetick coon hound, Bell.

Dayna Reynolds

Dayna was born in Aurora, Colorado and has lived in Virginia for many years.

She served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Navy and graduated from John Tyler Community College.

Dayna has been a licensed funeral director in Virgnia since 2013.

She and her fiance, Chris Pate live in Staunton and enjoy spending time with their friends and traveling to see family.

Rachel Branham

Rachel was born in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was a 1964 Graduate of Lane High School in Charlottesville.

Rachel is the widow of the late State Farm Agent, Norman Branham. She has a son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Leigh and four adorable grandchildren, Bo, Tom, Gracie and Wade Branham.

Rachel is an active member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church in Fishersville. She is affiliated with the Week Day Religious Education, the Staunton Quarterback Club, the Soroptimist Club, Parents Without Partners, Fraternal Order Of The Staunton Women's Eagles, Staunton Women of the Moose #1439, a worker for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Relay for Life.

Rachel is a loving and caring person who enjoys helping the young and old in good times and hard times.

Dennis Gleason

Dennis is a native of Staunton, Virginia a son of the late Thomas M. and Virginia Dean (Forsyth) Gleason.

He is a 1976 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.

Dennis and his wife Rene' reside in Waynesboro. They have two children, Jarrod Gleason and Megan Hays and a grandson Patrick.

He is a full-time employee assisting in all area of the funeral service and has been in the railroad industry for 35 years. Dennis is an avid hunter and enjoys spending time with his family.

Bill H. Hall

Bill was born in Staunton and has lived here most of his life. He married his wife, Shirley in August of 1966.

Bill is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. He graduated from the Central Police Academy in 1965 and served on the Staunton Police Department until his retirement in April 1993. Following his retirement, he worked for the Augusta County Sherriff’s Office as a court bailiff in the Juvenile Domestic Court.

He and his wife enjoy traveling, shopping, and spending time in the community.

Kenny Nicholas

Kenny was born in Staunton and married Linda Patrick Nicholas in April of 1995. He has a son, step-daughter and three grandchildren.

He is a 1974 graduate of Fort Defiance High School, he attended Blue Ridge Community College, is an U.S. Army Veteran and retired as a Fire Engineer with the City of Staunton.

Kenny and his wife Linda are members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and they reside in Lyndhurst.

Kenny enjoys the outdoors, hunting, singing and playing music.

Mr. Nicholas began his employement as a funeral assistant with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in July of 2009.

Gene McIlwee, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Mcllwee, Jr. was born in Shenandoah County. He and his wife Judy live near Middlebrook, and they have two children, Megan, Jason, and his wife Katie.

     He is a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Swoope.

     Gene has been employed by the Augusta County School system as an agriculture teacher at Riverheads High School for 39 years. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech with B.S. and M.S. Ed degrees in Agricultural Education.

     Gene has been employed part-time as a Funeral Service Assistant with Coffman Funeral Home since July 2008.

JoAnn L. Swisher
JoAnn L. Swisher

JoAnn was born in Staunton, VA a daughter of the late Evans and Virginia Long.  She is a 1965 graduate of Riverheads High School, attended National Business College in Roanoke, and graduated from Elizabeth Brandt School of Business.

JoAnn is married to Frank Swisher and they have a daughter, Jessica, son-in-law Sam McGhee and one granddaughter Abby Jo.

She retired from Planters Bank in 2001 after 25 years of service.

She is an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and volunteers with the Staunton Augusta Church Relief Association (SACRA) and serves on the board of directors of the Gypsy Express.  She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter and giving back to her community.

Kathy Lafon
Kathy Walton Lafon is a native of Staunton and currently serves as the Musician for Coffman Funeral Home. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then completed a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University in 1988.  Kathy also serves as Director of Music and Worship at Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton. She sees her opportunity to minister through music to families during their time of grief as a blessing.

John Yeago

John was born in Staunton and is married to Donna Dedrick Yeago. They have three sons and a daughter. John is a 1970 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, he attended Virginia Tech and is retired from Hollister Inc.

John and his family are members of Mountain View Mennonite Church, he enjoys photography, shooting sports, personal computers and electronics.

John began his employement with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory as a funeral service assistant in July of 2008.

Pam Swink

Pam was born in Staunton, VA a daughter of Mr. Glenn Thayer and the late Mary (Oliver) Thayer, she was a 1980 graduate of Riverheads High School.

Pam is married to Keith Swink and they have two children, Justin and Amanda.

She is an active member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, has been a hairdresser for over thirty years and employed with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory as a Funeral Service Assistant and Hairdresser since July of 2008.

She enjoys spending time with her family and helping people in the community.

Don Wagner
Don Wagner

Don is a native of the Staunton/Augusta County area and a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. He is married to the former Mary Sue Nutty and the couple has one daughter, Kim Galloway, and two granddaughters, Ashley and Tiffany.

Don retired in 1999 after 42 combined years with two of the area's newspaper. He has been a Realtor with Bishop Realty since retiring and associated part-time with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory since July 2008.

Don and Sue are active members of Third Presbyterian Church, Staunton. Don serves as a Clerk of the Session and sings in the choir. Don is also active in delivering Meals on Wheels in the Staunton area.

Don also served six years with the Virginia Army National Guard during the 1960's. He finished his real estate classes through Blue Ridge Community College, and has earned the GRI designation (Graduate, Realtor Institute). Don is also a member of the Staunton-Augusta Board of Realtors, The Virginia Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Edgar Smith

Edgar Perry "Corky" Smith Jr. was born near Middlebrook, Virginia. He is a son of the late Edgar P. & Mary E. Smith.

He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville, Virginia class of 1951. He also attended the Virginia Police Academy at the Virginia State Police Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia in 1960 and is an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

He is the widower of Mrs. Louise (Humphreys) Smith and they have two children, Karen Sue Smith and Edgar Parry Smith, III.

Mr. Smith was elected Sheriff of the City of Staunton in 1978 until he retired in August of 1991.

Bobby Arehart

Bobby is a native of Fairfield/Rockbridge County area, a son of the late O.S. "Ted" and Eloise Arehart. He is married to Brenda (Wade) Arehart and they reside in Fairfield. They have two children, Kristen Staton and Michael Arehart.

He is a graduate of Rockbridge High School and Dunsmore Business College. He retired in 2006 from Virginia Military Institute after 40 years of service from the Department of Information Technology.

He and his wife are members of the Old Providence ARP Church in Spottswood.

Bobby began his employment with Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in May of 2010.
